The man was killed after being chased by a suspect and shot after running to a passing car in the San Fernando Valley.
According to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call in the 11600 block of Sherman Way around 8pm Friday.
“The victims were called male Hispanics and were chased by suspects, male Hispanics,” a LAPD spokesman said. “The suspect produced a firearm and attacked the victim before fleeing the scene.”
An unknown vehicle drove him while the victim was on the ground, the spokesman added. The driver didn’t stop and ran out of the area.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Station responded and declared the man who died at the scene. His name has not been released.
Authorities could not comment on whether the incident was related to gangs and did not disclose further details.
The address from police is Home Depot, and preliminary information indicates that the shooting occurred in the Home Depot parking lot. In the video posted to the Civic App, police officers interview witnesses, blocking parts of the parking lot and blocking warning tapes.
