LA Fire Chief Christine Crowley responds to Oster on the bus

Exiled Los Angeles Fire Chief Christine Crowley struck a defensive tone on Saturday, informing him of dangerous situations and Karen Bass for not activating hundreds of firefighters ahead of the deadly Pallisard flames. She made her first statement after being demoted to mayor.

“As the fire chief, I have made sure they can take care of our community based on their actions and decisions to care for firefighters,” Crawley said in a statement.

“I have led me throughout my career by guiding with courage, sincerity, caring, love and respect to serve others before me, and with courage and sincerity to do the right thing. I am a LAFD member. I am extremely proud of my work, sacrifice and dedication.

A Times investigation found that fire department officials may have ordered around 1,000 firefighters to work because the wind was being built but they chose to do so. The move would have doubled the firepower in the hands when a fire broke out in Palisade on the morning of January 7th.

There were also engines in the department that had over 40 engines available to combat wildfires, but only five of them had firefighters in place.

Another time survey determined that LAFD was able to deploy at least 10 additional engines to the Palisade prior to the fire. If these engines were patrolling hillsides and canyons, they might have been able to put out the fire when they were still small.

Crawley fired a shot Friday, tensions were rampant at city hall. Councillor Monica Rodriguez, who says the northeastern San Fernando Valley district has seen the Torch Hillside community, said it is trying to overturn Crawley’s firing. The removal that Rodriguez argued was a way to deflect the criticism of the bass.

The Palisade fire killed at least 12 people, destroyed nearly 7,000 homes and other structures, and produced intense bass criticism that was in Ghana for the ceremony when the fire exploded. The disaster poses serious economic challenges for the region and raises doubts about whether the city is ready to host the 2028 Olympics.

Bass was not immediately able to reach due to comments on Crowley’s statement.

However, recently she was assaulting in Crawley. She said she had never heard of it from the chief until after the fire broke out and questioned the deployment strategy.

“It has been an absolute honor to represent and lead the men and women of the world’s greatest fire department as a humble civil servant over the past 30 years and as 25 out of LAFD’s 25,” Crowley said.

A representative for Crowley said he would not make any further comments.

LAFD veteran Ronnieva will serve as interim chief. He retired seven months ago as chief representative of the emergency business in the department forty years later.
