A teenager on a mini-bike was hit and killed by a South Los Angeles hit and run driver early Sunday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the West Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street areas around 2am for reports of a crash between the vehicle and the mini-bike.
Due to the impact of the crash, the mini bike was completely pinched under the front end of the black hatchback that hit it, the video of the scene shows. The hatchback itself also maintained visible damage.

The victim was a teenager, according to initial reports from witnesses. Authorities later confirmed that the victim was in fact a 16-year-old boy.

The drivers of the vehicle involved in the crash escaped in an unknown direction, and they remained outstanding from 7:30am on Sunday. Those explanations were not readily available.
Authorities were unable to further disclose information surrounding the incident.
