A woman was found in a fatal gunshot wound Monday night and in the same block in Westmont where a man was shot and killed Sunday.
Lawmakers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 1200 block of West 87th Avenue, an unincorporated area in Los Angeles County around 9:30pm.
They found an unidentified victim who was taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department officials, but later died of injuries, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The second victim, a man, was shot in the leg and was being treated for a life-threatening injury.

“The suspect, an adult man, was last seen behind the location and escaped on foot in an unknown direction,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
Investigators have not determined whether the shooting is linked to a fatal shooting of several homes on the same block on Sunday night.
