Republicans are putting pressure on the Department of Justice to advance the release of classified documents and records related to President John F. Kennedy and other federal secret assassinations.
President Donald Trump prepared an executive order in January for the agency that will develop plans to distribute the files, as well as documents relating to the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

Luna has sent letters to National Intelligence Director Tarshi Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondy, Michael Waltz and White House lawyer David Warrington asking for an explanation of the documents’ plans to be released by Thursday.
The letter also calls for details on when declassified documents will be made available to the task force and the public.
Trump’s executive order coordinates with the Department of Justice with Gabbard, Waltz and Warrington to establish plans for the release of JFK files by February 7th, and create plans for the release of MLK and Robert F. Kennedy files I’ve been instructed to do so. March 9th.
Additionally, Luna is urging the Department of Justice to share details about Jeffrey Epstein’s client list. The American financier died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Meanwhile, Bondi said on Friday that Epstein’s client list is waiting for reviews and that it is looking at Kennedy and King’s files.
“I’ll sit on my desk and review it now,” Bondy said, “American Report,” and John Roberts’ host John Roberts’s file. “It was a command by President Trump.”

A Justice Department spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Luna’s office did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital in response to Bondi’s statement.
Luna is not just the Republican lawmakers pushing for the release of these documents. R-Tenn. Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Monday also said Democrats are undermining efforts to “open Epstein’s trafficking rings wide,” under newly confirmed FBI director Kash Patel. I vowed to receive the answer.

The Director of National Intelligence’s office also did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital, but informed the Associated Press that plans have been submitted regarding Kennedy’s files.

The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. However, Trump has vowed on the campaign trail that if he wins the 2024 election, all JFK-related documents will be declassified.
The House Task Force on Federal Secrets Confidentialization is scheduled to hold its first hearing on March 26th.
