Diana Taurasi, one of the most well-known and skilled basketball players in the history of sports, is retired.
Taurasi, 42, told Time Magazine on Tuesday that she will hang sneakers in the WNBA away from the game in 20 years, reaching the peak of the sport, shattering records and redefine women’s basketball.

Born in Glendale, Taurashi moved to Chino at the age of eight and graduated from Don Antonio Lugo High School. After graduating, she was committed to co-playing at the University of Connecticut under the coach of Geno Aurienma at the University of Connecticut, where she put together one of the greatest careers in the history of university track and field.
At UConn, Taurashi was named the Associated Press Women’s College Basketball Player of the Year in 2003 and was named the Naismith College Player of the Year to win three NCAA Championships.
