President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday, requiring government payments and travel expenses to be justified and made public as much as possible.
This requirement is part of Trump’s executive order to implement a cost-effectiveness initiative for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Using modern technology, the order aims to transform spending by justifying all federal grants and contracts to exist through strict standards. Trump’s orders include federal agencies taking action immediately to consider all contracts and waste, fraud and abuse grants.
Travel expenses and government payments are also closely analyzed as they must be justified and made public when possible.

This order will also instruct your agent to treat your credit card as if it had been frozen for 30 days.
“To the maximum extent permitted by law, all credit cards held by agents’ employees are subject to claim liability if frozen in this order and falls under category aides as the agency’s liability, except for credit cards held by employees engaged in, or other important services relating to employees who use disaster relief or natural disaster response benefits or natural disaster response benefits or other operations, Trump’s executive order is subject to claim liability if frozen in this order and falls under category aides as the agency’s liability.
Working with Doge, the head of the agency will review and terminate any contracts deemed unnecessary.

Additionally, the executive order requires that the government consider how it manages the property and submit plans for the General Services to dispose of unnecessary ownership or lease property.
Trump’s orders are implemented to add “discipline to a useless system.”
“The existing system cannot protect taxpayer dollars or promote merit among contractors and subsidies,” a White House official said in a fact sheet, saying the government is spending a lot of money on contracts and grants.

The sheet also points out that the government violated a contract worth approximately $759 million in fiscal year 2023.
“The floods of this spending have historically had minimal protections,” the fact sheet read. “In the Biden administration, the GSA has directed efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) rather than merit and efficiency.”
Since he returned to his oval office, Trump has set wildfires on federal spending and unleashed Doge, led by billionaire Elon Musk.

According to the DOGE website, total savings were $65 billion on Tuesday, a combination of fraud detection and removal, contracts and lease cancellations, contracts and lease renegotiations, asset sales, subsidies cuts, program changes and regulations savings. The site is updated twice a week.
The Doge site also has a “receipt wall” that shows you how much savings you save and breakdowns where savings were found.
