Officials are seeking public help in identifying a man suspected of shooting a San Gabriel Mountains drone pilot on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department described the suspect as a man with a mild complexion and a beard or goat beard, apparently between the ages of 20 and 25.
“The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous,” LASD said in a post on X on Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Department said the suspect fired several rounds from the victim’s semi-automatic handgun while flying the drone in a vote in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Authorities did not immediately say whether the victim was attacked or injured as a result.
After filming the drone pilot, the suspect drone was driven on a bright blue or green Toyota Camry that LASD was estimated to have created between 2002 and 2006.

The suspect’s car photo also shows painted oxidation on the roof, DMV paper on the rear window, and black rims.
The suspect’s vehicle was last seen heading south to Highway 39 before he was out of sight, the sheriff’s department added.
LASD also provided photos of the suspect showing him carrying a handgun to the victim.
He finally wore a checkered flannel shirt with a black hood, bright gray pants and red and white high-top tennis shoes.
