Peace negotiations for the Russian Ukraine came to a halt of screeching on Friday after an oval office meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Voldy Zelensky exploded in anger.
Now, the world is wondering where negotiations are from here, and whether the two world leaders can repair enough relationships to mediate peace. Some say Europe may need to step up and get involved to end hostilities, while others believe Zelensky needs to take significant damage control or resign.
“It’s difficult to predict what will happen next,” a European official told Fox News Digital. “The optics were simply terrible. …This is another sign that Europe will collectively support its actions and mobilize Russian foreign assets. Buy Ukrainian weapons. Increase defence spending this year.
Trump said he doesn’t believe Zelensky is “ready” for our involvement in the peace process, and Republicans who once supported the Ukrainian fight with Russia appear to be tired of Ukrainian leaders.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a former stubborn supporter of Ukraine, said after the meeting that a war-torn nation might need to look for a new leader to work with Trump.
“The question for Ukrainians is, for me… I don’t know if Zelensky can take you where you want to go to the US.
Another former State Department official said there would be a need for “emergency meetings” to find a way forward for Europe.
“I think we have to watch an emergency meeting between Europeans and the US, and I think we have to cool it down right now between Zelensky and the US.”

“That oval meeting was either the trouble of Zelensky’s political career or the trouble of Ukraine,” said Rep. Mike Garcia, a Republican, who served as the informal liaison between Mike Johnson’s speaker and Ukrainian rank and house members. “One of these two will no longer exist in the coming months.”
He added that Friday’s spat was a natural result of Zelenskyy running under the “spirit of blank checks.”
“The pill that Zelenskyy doesn’t seem to have swallowed yet means he won’t get everything he wants,” Garcia told Fox News Digital. “He was humiliated at a global stage at a time when his people needed to be a little more elegant and grateful for the kind of things he had got.

“He has to come back and say he is very grateful for what he has got. “I live for the United States. I’ll sit down and negotiate in good faith for a peace agreement that doesn’t bring anything I want and that may not take me to the borders we had between 2012 and 2013.”
After President Donald Trump denounced him as a “dictator” last week and invited him to the White House this week, the White House was surprised by Zelensky’s “battle.”

“The President and Vice President did not expect Zelensky to engage in such rude behavior,” a source close to Vance said.
AIDS was shortened as AIDS escorted Zelensky from the facility before negotiations for closed doors began.
“You don’t have cards now. With us, you start holding cards,” Trump told Zelensky.

Vance accused Zelenskyy of trying to sue their issues in front of the US media.
“Please give us a thank you to the President who is trying to save the United States and your country,” Vance told Zelensky.
“Have you been to Ukraine? Have you seen the problems we have? Come and come once,” replied the Ukrainian president.

After the meeting, Trump announced that Zelensky could return to his oval office “when he’s ready for peace.”
“We held a very meaningful meeting at the White House today. Under such fire and pressure, we learned a lot that we couldn’t understand without conversation,” Trump wrote.
“It’s amazing how it comes out through emotions, and President Zelensky has decided that if America is involved he is not ready for peace. He feels our involvement is giving him a great advantage in negotiations. I don’t want peace.
