Zelensky doesn’t apologise for the oval office spat, says it’s bad for both parties

(Hill) – Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelensky did not apologise for his meeting with President Trump.

Fox News’ Brett Byer asked the Ukrainian president on Friday evening if he would apologise for the meeting, which was expected to sign a mineral deal but instead fell off the rails and denied any fraud.

“No, I respect the President and I respect the people of America. If I don’t know, I think we have to be very open and very honest. “Maybe we have to be debated from the media in honour of democracy and liberation media.”

The exchange occurred with a reporter and camera in the oval office, and published discussions. Trump said when reporters left the room and were asked if it was made for a good TV.

“This is not good for both sides anyway. I was very open, but I can’t change Ukrainian attitudes towards Russia,” Zelensky said when asked if public nausea was a very useful tool for Ukrainians. “This means that Americans are the best of our friends, Europeans are the best of our friends, [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, along with Russia, we are the enemy. ”

Baier asked if the dynamics should be done behind closed doors, questioning whether Zelensky regretted how it occurred. Before replied, “Yes, I don’t think it was good,” Zelensky saw what he thought was asking for a translation of “Regret.”

“I’m always open to the media, but I’m very sensitive. I just want to be honest and have my partner understand the situation right,” the Ukrainian president added.

The moment Vance said that President Trump was engaged in diplomacy, the moment the meeting erupted outside the heartfelt railroad, Zelensky noted that Putin had broken the ceasefire.

When asked by Baier why Zelensky went crazy, he made him change his tone, so he suggested that it was Vance being inserted during a lecture in the oval office.

“If a journalist asks the president with respect to the vice president, he has an interview, and this is our dialogue,” he said.

White House officials told Hill that Trump and Zelensky entered separate rooms after the argument. The Ukrainians wanted to continue consultations in sought a reset. But Secretary of State Marco Rubio and national security adviser Mike Waltz ultimately told them they had to leave the White House grounds that Trump ordered.

Trump and Zelensky were expected to hold a post-meeting press conference. Zelensky then appeared later that day in a scheduled interview with Fox.

When Baier questioned whether he would sign a contract with Putin, Zelensky said negotiations must bring about “fair and lasting peace.”

“We are ready for peace, but we need to be in a strong position,” he added.

He also said in an interview that when asked whether the president was too close to Putin, he wanted Trump “more on our side.”

In a moment before the interview, Trump suggested to reporters that Zelensky “overestimated his hand” that he wanted to continue fighting, suggesting that future US support would be in danger if he didn’t want the war to end.

Baier asked the Ukrainian president if he could recover his ties with Trump, and after asking for a translation, Zelensky replied, “Of course, that relationship is more than two presidents.”

“We are the strong relationship between our people and that’s ours. I’ve always started to appreciate your people from our people,” Zelensky said. “This is very important and I’m sorry, but we wanted to have a very strong relationship and I’m sure I have it.”

A few weeks before the explosive White House meeting, Trump ended the war in Ukraine and spoke with both Zelensky and Putin.

He met with European allies of France and Britain this week. Both argued that they must guarantee that they are protected against future Russian attacks.
