A Southern California man gets beaten violently by a teenage bike mob makes a statement

The man recalls a horrifying moment when he was violently beaten by a group of teenage bikes in Los Angeles.

The incident occurred on February 22 when 28-year-old Maurice Benaim, 28, was driving near San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista in the Carsay area near Beverly Hills around 5pm.

At that time he found a group of 20-30 boy bikes who performed stunts and blocked traffic.

The crowd seemed upset as he squealed the horns. Someone in the group approached his car and smashed lightly in his tail while repeatedly kicking his car. That’s when Benaim decides to get out of his car.

Cell phone video of the incident showed teens quickly descending on Benaim as they slam him on the ground, brutally punched him, kicked him and beat him.

One of the teenage suspects jumped onto Benaim’s car and began kicking the windshield, which eventually shattered.

The video on the phone captured the moment when Maurice Benheim was surrounded by a group of teenage bikers and was beaten violently on February 22, 2025 in a mob-style attack near Beverly Hills. “They’re surrounded me and I’m just trying to stay aware,” recalls Benaim. “Okay, this is happening. There’s not much I can do. I’m clearly above the number.” I was just trying to protect my face and I had fewer head injuries. ”

Police described the attack as a mob style assault. When some good Samaritans got out of the car to help the victim, the group of teenagers fled the scene and Benaim lay unconsciously on the road.

Benaim said he was left with tears, bruises, head trauma, massive pain, potentially broken ribs and emotional trauma.

“It was so scary to see all these boys jump on this guy,” said Chantelle Amelie, Benaim’s lawyer.

“There was no real reason,” Benaim said.

Once the victim recovered, he said he was grateful to the community of support he received from his friends and loved ones.

“We’re paralyzed,” said Yasmile Benaim, the victim’s mother. “We are paralyzed by all this violence.”

She said parents of these teenagers would like to consider talking to their children about the devastating consequences of violent behavior.

“What would you think if it was your child who hurt the way my son hurt?” she asked the teens. “It’s a miracle that it didn’t escalate [even further.]”

On Friday, Los Angeles police confirmed that two juvenile suspects had been arrested in connection with the assault. The rest of the suspects, who are likely between all 16 and 18 years old, remain as a whole.

Police are looking for a group of teenage suspects between the ages of 16 and 18 who are hoped for in connection with a violent attack on a driver on February 22, 2025. “My heart is directed at the young man who was assaulted and his family. It’s reassuring to hear that he’s recovering,” said LA City Councilman Katie Jaroslavsky. “LAPD is actively investigating this case and has not shown that law enforcement believes it is a hate crime, but such violence is unacceptable. I urge anyone who has the information to support responsible accountability.”

Anyone with information about the case or suspect is encouraged to call LAPD Wilshire Detective Carlos at 213-922-8229. The public can also call LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.

Anonymous tips can be provided to LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.
