Trump’s administrator promises to be “relentlessly offensive” in response to alleged murders of US citizens

In response to the murder of South Texas ranchers and US citizens on suspicion of a cartel explosion, the Trump administration has promised to be “ruthlessly offensive” in responding to cartel threats to Americans.

After 74-year-old US citizen Antonio Cespedes Sardielna was killed in the explosion, National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes told Fox News Digital that the administration is less resistant to working to ensure the borders fully.

He said President Donald Trump’s latest eight cartel designations (MS-13, Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua, and several Mexican cartels) were foreign terrorist groups, “as terrorists to accurately treat members of violent cartels as accurately treated.”

Hughes did not provide details as to whether the administration is considering a military response to the alleged killing of the cartel, but noted that “the administration has proven ruthlessly offensive in pursuit of criminal gangs that threaten their homeland.”

The Trump administration has committed to being “ruthlessly offensive” in dealing with cartel threats to Americans.

He said, “President Trump will not stop anything to secure our borders, protect our communities and dismantle terrorist organizations.”

As reported by local outlet KRGV-TV on Tuesday, Sardiana was driving a truck about two hours south of the border of Mexico’s Tamaulipas state when he exploded and drove a life-threatening IED.

His death comes after weeks of growing concern among border leaders over the rise in cartel violence and activity just south of the US border.

On January 27, US Border Patrol agents fired from a cartel member near Fronton, Texas.

Footage obtained in early February by the office of Texas Republican Sen. Chip Roy, reveals that the cartel also has drone capabilities and the ability to drop air missiles on ground targets.

After the murder of Sardiana, Roy called on the United States to “fight against the cartels.”

“The outcome of Biden’s pathetic border policy has peaked with the death of a Texas rancher driving to a Mexican ranch through a cartel-planted IED, an explosive device commonly used by terrorist organizations in the Middle East,” Roy told Fox News Digital. “This savage display of violence is further evidence that these cartels must be treated as terrorists they are.”

Roy said Congress must now act to solidify its designation of the Trump administration’s cartels and other immigrant criminal groups as foreign terrorist organizations.

“President Trump has issued an executive order to designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Since 2019, I have introduced legislation to designate these lawless groups as FTOs,” he said. “Now is the time to codify President Trump’s EO, fight against the cartels and wipe out them once.”

Emphasizing the urgency of responding to persistent cartel violence at the border, former Republican MP Meira Flores from South Texas told Fox News Digital that Saldierna’s death “emphasizes the challenges many face every day.”

Another South Texas Republican, Rep. Monica de la Cruz, highlighted the role of Ice in reducing the cartel’s ability to inflict violence on Americans. She told Fox News Digital that she “works with the Trump administration to support border patrols and ice agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, arresting all criminals and cartel members in our country and working to secure borders.”

Republican MP Tony Gonzalez, whose district covers a huge portion of the southern border, also commented on the deaths, saying “The cartels don’t take into account our laws, not to mention the sanctity of life.”

Gonzalez said he is “fully” supporter of the Trump administration, which designates the cartel as a terrorist group, and that it “gives the government more resources to shut down their operations.”

“They are terrorists and deserve to be designated that way,” he explained. “This tragic death in South Texas is just another example.”

Fox News Digital also contacted Henry Quellar and Vicente Gonzalez’s South Texas Democrats, but did not receive a response from the publication.
