An original artifact from “Time for Beany,” a children’s puppet show that premiered at KTLA 5 in the late 1940s, headed for the auction block this March.

Unusual photos of Walt Disney will be on auction
“Time for Beany,” created by Animation Legend Bob Clampett in collaboration with Warner Bros., premiered at KTLA on February 28, 1949. The series was an immediate success, gaining a fan base that includes Frank Zappa, Jimmy Stewart and Albert Einstein.
The show won the first Emmy Award in 1950 for its first ever children’s programming. The show’s popularity led to a national syndication deal, which later influenced the animation spinoff “Beanie and Cecil” in the 1960s.
