Most Democrats appeared to be sitting as a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor was asked to become an honorary Secret Service agent.
“Final-stage children with brain tumors will be awarded the Honorary Secret Service Award, and Democrats will refuse to stand up or applause,” Trump administration official Rick Grennell tweeted about the 13-year-old’s interaction with the president.
“The Democrats refuse to support children who survived brain cancer! How bad can one party do?” tweeted Outkick founder Clay Travis.

“Democrats didn’t support the boy who survived brain cancer,” Republican activist Scott Pressler wrote on X.
“Democrats refused to stand or applaud for a little boy fighting cancer,” Tiktok’s Libs posted on X. “Really sick people.”
“I can’t believe a poor Democrat can’t even praise a young man with brain cancer or Kennedy who wants to make America healthy again.”
But others emphasized the overall importance of the moment.
“This is the first time I remember crying in a union state. I would like to thank President Trump,” Meghan McCain posted. “It’s so beautiful. Anyone who has been affected by brain cancer knows how special this is.”
Democrats were removed from the House room after confusing Trump’s speech to Congress: “Take your seat.”

McCain’s father, the late Senator John McCain, R. Alis, died in 2018 from a brain tumor.
Others explained why they were skeptical of interaction.
“Trump uses a child who had brain cancer as a prop. He wants to be a police officer, so he has become an honorary member of the Secret Service,” liberal commentator Kyle Klinsky posted on X.

Some Democrats protested at the start of Trump’s speech on Tuesday night, which even led to the removal of Rep. Al Green by sergeant at the request of House Speaker Mike Johnson. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Sen. DV.T. of D-Texas also finished their speeches early.
