The National Weather Service (NWS) said the storm system down the coast will bring rain on Wednesday along with possible thunderstorms and “remote risks of tornadoes.”
“The rain will arrive in LA County around noon. In its forecast discussion on Wednesday morning, the NWS will turn into showers everywhere except LA County, where rain will remain in the evening.
While residents of burned areas in Southern California are preparing for possible debris and mud flows, the NWS believes the most likely outcome of the storm is “beneficial rain” with only a small impact.
Potential impact ranges include Wedgeur:
10-20% shallow debris may flow, and a severe storm with small hail and gusts of winds accompanied by a tornado risk with a strong storm
The NWS states, “The system is not a rainmaker that produces only two-thirds to two-thirds of rain.” The chance of a thunderstorm is 10-20% cold sand, allowing local volumes to reach 1-2 inches.

“On Thursday, we see that there is ample instability in the atmosphere, and that there is isolated possibility of thunderstorms and potentially weak tornadoes,” said Kirk Hawkins of Ktla.
The total snow must remain 2-5 inches for elevations above the 4,500-foot mark.
The dry, clear skies could return from Friday afternoon until Sunday to Sunday.
Light to medium showers are expected to return between Tuesday and Tuesday, with potentially heavy rains next Wednesday and Thursday as the storm is strong.
