Long Beach police are searching for the person who stabbed a woman in downtown Long Beach Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to Magnolia Avenue between 3rd and 4th Avenues around 7:30am and were called for the reported stab wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital, and law enforcement is expected to be OK.
A detailed description of the attacker was not available.
The violence was a block away from Long Beach Police Station’s headquarters, but some nearby residents said proximity wasn’t that comfortable as the area has experienced several crimes.
“We can’t even go outside,” said Maria Trujillo, a resident of Long Beach.
She and her husband say they are afraid to leave the house one day due to crime.
