A Ventura County man was found guilty of abusing two young children over nearly a decade.
The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday convicted a ju judge of 68-year-old Marcelino Arias Alca, 68, of Oxnard, on 68 felony leading to a child.
From 2005 to 2014, Arca abused two victims who were under the age of 14 at the time. The abuse has occurred in several locations over the years, prosecutors said. He had access to children through family relationships.

A few years later, both victims reported the abuse to trustworthy families. Arca was arrested for a crime and was later convicted of six counts of indecent conduct against a child.

Arca has also been convicted of previous child abuse since 1988, authorities said.
“I praise the two victims for the incredible courage to move forward and face abusers,” said Ben Moreno, the Ventura County District Attorney, who charged the case. “Because of their courage, this defendant will never have the opportunity to hurt the child again, and we would also like to thank him for his careful attention to the evidence and their commitment to justice. Today’s verdict cannot revoke the harm caused by the defendant, but we hope that it will give the victims a closure they deserve desperately.”
According to the DA’s office, Arca is scheduled for April 7th.
