This week’s storm is not over in Southern California yet. Heavy winds join forces with continuous showers and snow on Thursday.
“The scattered showers are expected to continue throughout Southern California today throughout today’s day, and then nothing will go away tonight,” said Kirk Hawkins of KTLA. “Most of the shower activities affect the mountains of LA, Ventura and of course the Inland Empire.”
Winter storm warnings are in effect on riverside and parts of San Bernardino County mountains until 10am on Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Snow levels are expected to be lower than 3,500 feet when 4-7 inches of snow is possible beyond the 5,000 feet level. In the Lightwood area, several inches of snow fell overnight.

A gust of snow was also filmed on a video in the Frasier Park area on Wednesday night. Additional snow on Thursday could be a challenging driving condition on five highways passing through the Grapevine area.
“When we talk about Grapevine, we may be able to see more new snow,” Kirk said.
Particularly along recent burn areas, residents of Southern California’s hillsides are keeping an eye on the hillside due to potential landslides. The NWS is looking for a 10% chance of slight flooding and shallow debris flow.

Wind advisories are in place in parts of Los Angeles County until 1pm on Thursday. The recommendations will remain for some areas inland until early Friday morning.
Residents are expected to take a break this weekend with clear skies and dry arrivals, but that won’t last long.
Two chances of rain will arrive next Monday, and will arrive again from Wednesday to Thursday. The forecaster said Wednesday’s storm could be the most important as it could take advantage of the Atmospheric River.
