If you’re heading towards the mountains of Southern California in the next few days, make sure you “bring your chains and brains.”
That’s what one man, Jack, told KTLA’s Megantels on Thursday morning in Lightwood, Thursday morning, that he encountered a heavy-winded snowfall.

Winter weather warnings were in effect in the mountainous areas of Riverside and San Bernardino counties between early Thursday morning and 10am on Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm was primarily set to affect cities in Big Bear Lake, Running Springs, Big Bear City, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline and Lightwood. Areas over 4,500 feet can expect to accumulate up to 9 inches of snow on Thursday.
A gust of wind can reach 60 mph.
With the NWS Winter Weather Warning placed at 10am on Friday (KTLA) and the NWS Winter Weather Warning placed at 10am on Friday (KTLA) (KTLA), several inches of snow landed on Lightwood overnight as a few inches of winter weather warning landed in Lightwood.
