Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said her resistant applause was to affirm “American support for Ukrainians” when President Donald Trump called her “Pocahontas” in a congressional joint session.
Warren spoke to Nicholas Balashi of Fox News Digital, who is reporting the importance of American support for Ukraine after meeting with Ukrainian President Voldy Measelensky and President Trump in his oval office last Friday.
“What I was talking about is the importance of American support for Ukrainians fighting on the frontline for democracy, fighting back against the dictators,” Warren told Fox News Digital.
Warren, a loyal Ukrainian supporter since the Russian invasion in 2022, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s line would not stop with Ukraine.
Reading Trump Zelensky’s letter, they met with support from GOP and independent voters.

“Everyone needs to understand. They take a bite from Ukraine. They’re not giving up. They’re coming to other parts of Europe. We need to fight that,” Warren said.

Warren told Fox News Digital on Tuesday night that he was “nerves” by praised the US support for the “Ukrainian Patriot” during President Donald Trump’s speech.
“Senator Warren, what did you think President Trump would call you by name?” Fox News Digital asked Warren.
“I actually hit the nerve when I praised the US support for Ukrainian patriots. If it hits the nerve for Trump, it’s worth sitting down in the rest of that statement.”
“Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been unnecessarily killed or injured in this horrific, brutal conflict, and it has no end.
In response to loud applause from Warren and her fellow Democrats, Trump said “Pocahontas.”
“You want to continue that for another five years?” Yeah, yeah, you’ll say. Pocahontas says yes,” Trump said.
Warren was one of several Democrats who denounced Trump after a meeting with Ukrainian President Voldy Mie Zelensky in his oval office last Friday.
“Donald Trump treats the destruction of democracy as a political show. He throws Ukraine on the wolves and gives Putin a favor. It’s embarrassing and dangerous. I’ve been to Ukraine.
Warren and Senator Lindsey Graham, Rs.C. visited Zelensky in Kiev on a bipartisan show of American support for Ukraine. During the war, Warren did not support funding for Ukraine.

However, Graham said he didn’t know “if he could do business with Zelenskyy again” after a “complete, complete disaster” in the oval office. Graham said Zelensky would either step down or “we need to send someone to see if we can do business or something he needs to change.”
Zelensky was asked to leave the White House after public disagreement between Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

Trump ordered the suspension of all US aid to Ukraine on Monday. Zelensky then wrote to Trump, affirming his commitment to peaceful negotiations and thanking the United States for his service to Ukraine.
