“The archer saved his mother’s life,” Marlo said. “He had no choice, but to kill his own brother. And choking at 80 while your face was hitting the ground? That would have certainly caused her death.”
Police said the young son remains at the scene and is working with investigators. LAPD has confirmed that the fatal shooting is not being treated as a criminal offence.
“He’s going to be released,” Marlo said of his young son. “This is a legitimate murder, not a murder.”
When the neighbor heard the fuss, he recalled hearing a loud gunshot.
“It was like a shotgun,” Vincent Scaleri said. “It didn’t sound like a pistol. They were loud and deep, and there were two of them. It was just a tragedy for that family.”
Police said her mother was taken to hospital with head injuries, but she is expected to survive and will be released soon.
Further details, including the nature of the family conflict and the identity of the parties involved, were not released as the lawsuit remains under investigation.
