Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation after a Hindu temple in San Bernardino County was destroyed with a “political message.”
Deputies responded to Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Temple in Chino Hills about 9:15am on Saturday with a call for vandalism, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arriving at the temple and speaking to the administrator, the deputies learned that an unknown suspect or suspect had been painted graffiti containing a “political message” on the temple’s marble signs, with nearby brick walls, and sidewalks belonging to the town of Chino Hill.
The exact nature of the “political message” has not been revealed by law enforcement. Temple officials did not reveal what was spray painted, but issued a statement denounced the incident.

“Faced with another mandil’s exaggeration, this time in Chino Hills, California, the Hindu community is in a state of disgust in hatred,” Baps Public Affairs said in X.

Chino Hills’ code enforcement has been notified and is supporting an ongoing investigation, lawmakers confirmed.
According to the Indian Express, Bokasanwasi Akshar Prushtam Swaminarayan Sansa (Baps) is a denomination of Swaminarayan Sampradaya, a Hindu Vaishna sect.
