Police say the motorcyclist was found on the street after crashing due to a hospital injury.
The Long Beach Police Department issued a statement Sunday morning saying officers were in the Long Beach Boulevard and 51st Street area around 5:10pm on Saturday.
A Long Beach Fire Station paramedic arrived on the scene and took him to the hospital, where officers quickly began to supplement their aid until he succumbed to the injury.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda CBR 900 motorcycle was moving at high speed north on Long Beach Boulevard. The rider lost control on 51st Street and fell on asphalt before colliding with a parked vehicle,” LBPD said in a media release.
The motorcycle rider was identified only as a 55-year-old man from Long Beach.
