An Orange County commercial robber suspect stole a high-end SUV and led police in a pursuit that ended in a standoff on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
In a news release, officials from the Garden Grove Police Station said just before 2pm, officers found a black Land Rover Sports near the port and Garden Grove Boulevard.
The vehicle was reportedly stolen early in the morning, police said.
Authorities identified the suspect as 28-year-old Santa Ana resident Jonathan McClaulin and said he quickly fled when police tried to attract him.

During the multi-city pursuit, the 28-year-old reportedly plunged two independent police cruisers in an attempt to escape before finally stopping on the 91 highway east of the Imperial Highway.

“A police armored vehicles were used to prevent the suspects from fleeing again, and several attempts were made to allow the suspects to leave the vehicle themselves,” the release said.
Officers then deployed police K9 and were able to detain McClaurin.
“He will be taken to a local hospital and after receiving treatment, he will be booked at the Orange County Jail,” police said.
The extent and nature of the 28-year-old’s injury was not readily available.
