The 30-year-old reportedly reportedly trespassing the property at a Receda hospital, officials said.
Crews from the Los Angeles Fire Station responded to an electric shock report at 18324 W. Cantala Street, where Northridge Hospital is located, just after 5pm.
Firefighters said the man suffered considerable burns on half his body during the incident.
It is unclear what the man was doing near the hospital’s electrical equipment, but he was electrocuted when he contacted an electric safe on top of the facility’s generator.

Officials said the man was taken to the hospital in a dangerous condition, but it was not immediately clear whether he had been treated at the same hospital where the electric shock occurred.

Video footage from the area after the incident saw crews from the Water and Power Department in Los Angeles working in an area where a man was injured.
Authorities did not say whether electrical operations at the hospital were interrupted during the incident or whether any of the high-voltage equipment was damaged.
Further details were provided, including the man’s identity and whether he would face accusations if he survived.
