Firefighter survivors, including small business owners affected by the Palisade and Eton fires, will be required to apply for financial relief until Wednesday evening.
The Los Angeles Area Small Business and Worker Relief Fund will provide direct support to businesses, nonprofits and workers affected by the January storm and wildfires.
These cash assistance grants aim to “follow counties and cities together with federal, state, local and community partners to provide immediate relief whilst planning for long-term economic recovery and resilience for those affected.”
The deadline for filling out the online application is March 12th at 5pm

Small business owners and nonprofit organizations
Small business and non-profit owners whose brick and mortar facilities have been completely destroyed may qualify for a grant of up to $25,000.
Here’s a breakdown of what small businesses and nonprofits cover:
Small businesses and nonprofits operating from commercial spaces can receive $25,000 on either completely destroyed bricks or dead spaces. Reporting losses can apply to businesses and independent contractors (including home-operated nonprofits) with a maximum of $15,000.
The applicant is
They were economically affected by the Los Angeles area fires and storms that took place since January 7th. They were headquartered within the boundaries of Los Angeles County and operated within either a fire zone, an evacuation order level 3 zone, or a level 2 zone for evacuation warning during disasters. The 501(c)(3), 501(c)(6) or 501(c)(19) designation must serve low-income people with moderate income communities and have an annual total revenue of less than $6 million. The applicant is independently owned by a business or nonprofit organization that sells or provides services and/or products. Those applying on behalf of a nonprofit must be an executive officer or president. The application must be an active enterprise currently operating and in good condition with all local, state and federal tax and licensing authorities.

Workers who lose their homes or jobs due to the effects of the fire zone may qualify for up to $2,000 in assistance.
To qualify for assistance, applicants are:
A Los Angeles County resident age 18 or older or a self-employed person in Los Angeles County at the time of a Los Angeles area fire (for example, domestic workers). Loss of experienced income from workplace locations in emergency zones (fire zone, evacuation order level 3 zone, or disaster-time evacuation warning level 2 zone) or home loss, temporary or permanent.
You do not need to have a right of work status to apply for this grant.
The following documentation required for your application include:
Tolerant of government-issued (US or foreign) photo identification in an acceptable form of a place of residence in Los Angeles County (this can be a government-issued photo ID with a home address, utility bill, mortgage, or lease document). Proof of income or employment at a physical address in an emergency zone, as on January 7th (this is a salary, employer, employer’s employment, employer or employer’s proof of employment) to work in a place or residence due to windstorms and wildfires. (This is published data regarding the FEMA decision, the structure of the emergency zone or photographs for the mission of the evacuation order received.)
Residents and Renters
Cash grants ranging from $6,000 to $18,000 are available to fire-stricken homeowners and tenants.
Applicants are also eligible for assistance if they die in a home related to a fire in the Los Angeles area.
The grant amount is determined by the size of the household.
This is the fault:
One or two households, including individuals living alone or couples without dependents, may qualify for $6,000. Households of three or more people, at least one dependent minor or dependent adult, may qualify for $12,000. A multi-generational home with at least four people, including dependent minors and/or dependent adults, that consists of at least three generations, may qualify for $18,000.
