Officials are warning citizens to avoid all Los Angeles County beaches due to the high levels of bacteria caused by the violence that arrived this week.
The seawater warning is valid until 4pm on Friday, March 14th.
Due to significant rainfall, excess bacteria, trash, debris and chemicals can penetrate through urban streets and mountainous areas and pollute the seawater.
The warning also includes spills that can flow into the beach sand or into the pond.
Those who enter the ocean during this period could be children, especially the elderly, or immunocompromised, officials said.
The rain advisory for 72 hours after the rainfall has ended remains in effect. Once the rain advisory is lifted, the Ocean Water Advisory from Las Flores State Beach to Santa Monica State Beach will remain in effect until further notice.
“Beach fans may recreate the sand, but they continue to be advised to stay away from the seawater from fire debris,” county health officials said.
Storm Advisory can be extended depending on future rainfall conditions.
The Health Department regularly tests marine water levels and recommendations are lifted if the levels meet the standards set by California.
