Did Tiktok, loaded with slurs, help the murder break?

The let’s and racially slanderous videos, filmed outside an Orange County restaurant, helped arrest two people suspected of murdering a Cerritos man, authorities said this week.

The video, which was then deleted, was originally uploaded to Tiktok by users who went to “Leti T.” The video was then posted to other accounts on the platform, showing “Leti T” and companions called racial slurs by men and women outside Cypress’s Panera Pan.

“I didn’t want to use it as content from the start (it certainly isn’t my theme), but please tell me how happy I am that justice is being offered for that video,” wrote “Leti T” in the caption of another Tiktok video uploaded Thursday.

Atty, Los Angeles County. Nathan Hochman announced Wednesday that the pair, seen in the video, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 66-year-old Cuauhtemoc Garcia, who was killed after leaving the car along the Coyote Creek Bike Pass on February 25th.

Prosecutors say that Tiktok’s video helped them break the case.

“This was a meaningless and brutal act of violence that took the lives of our husbands, fathers and businessmen who wanted to enjoy a peaceful walk,” Hochman said in a statement. “My sympathy goes out to his family, grieving this unimaginable loss. We pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law in order to hold them responsible.”

The video pair, identified as brothers John Chun Moon, 54, and 58-year-old Cindy Kim, were arrested Monday.

Garcia left the car and walked along the Cerritos Bike Pass on February 25th when Moon and Kim allegedly tried to steal the car, prosecutors said. Prosecutors say the pair shot him when Garcia refused to hand over his keys.

Authorities say Moon and Kim were charged with murder and attempted a second-degree robbery. If convicted, they will face life in prison.

They were scheduled to be arrested Wednesday, but their hearing was postponed.

“I’ve been thinking about the Garcia family because I heard it from a murder detective, but I can’t imagine what they’ve been going on,” writes Letty T in Tiktok. “They didn’t deserve this. He was just going out for walks all day.”
