The four California lottery players are the state’s latest billionaires after winning a total of $5.5. A million from the lottery game, lottery officials announced Thursday.
The winners purchased tickets at various stores throughout the state.
In Sun Valley, Jorge Rosa came within one number of winnings in the Powerball jackpot, but left for nearly $2.5 million.

Loza bought a ticket at Sunland Boulevard’s 7-Ileven, matching five numbers, only missing the Powerball number.
In Ventura, Teresa Cisneros won $1 million on one double, triple scratch pill ticket during a regular stop at her local 7-Eleven on North Ventura Avenue.
Northern California players are also in good fortune. Guadalupe Guerro, who was visiting Santa Rosa to meet Mom, bought two $10 scracker tickets instead of the usual $5 option at MD Liqueur & Food in Ronato Park.
“In the beginning I thought I’d won $1,000, but then my child said, “No, it’s not a thousand, that’s a million!”
He confirmed his victory using the California Lottery mobile app.
Another lucky player, Jesus Perez of San Jose, spent $10 on a Roteria Grande Scrudders ticket while visiting the rotten lobby store on Saratoga Avenue.

Initially he thought he hadn’t won anything, but Perez rechecked his tickets before throwing it away. That second look revealed that he won the top prize of the game’s million dollars.
“I thanked the Lord of Miracles,” he said.
Participating in the California lottery also supports funding for public education in the state.
Ticket sales from draw games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, Super Lot Plus, Fantasy 5, and unclaimed lottery prizes are awarded to California public schools.
