This is the closure of 2025 LA Marathon Road you should avoid

Good luck to everyone running the La Marathon on Sunday. We also wish everyone good luck to those considering driving anywhere near the La Marathon route on Sunday.

This is a friendly annual reminder with thousands of runners coming down 26.2 miles of LA streets this weekend, with even larger mileages from the rolling road closures closing traffic near Dodger Stadium, around downtown, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. (Of course, we are always welcome to avoid some of these closures and use the Metro to cheer on runners.)

When the La Marathon begins on Sunday, March 16th, you will want to avoid driving near the busiest areas of the city from 4am or 5am to 3am.

There west, things get a little more complicated. This year’s marathon will drop the classic interstadium route again in exchange for the “start” route that closes at Century City. So, while Santa Monica is not affected by street closures, Brentwood, Westwood and Century City are doubly affected. All Santa Monica Boulevard from Wilshire Boulevard to Sepulveda Boulevard will remain closed until 6pm while San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood will be closed until 5pm. And they will consider Century City, which will find the finish line and festival, and will be closed to cars from 8am on Saturday to 8pm on Sunday night.

The marathon route itself accounts for some of the biggest closures, but we hope that many side roads will also be closed. (The highways remain open, but some off-ramps will be closed for the entire day.) With all that in mind, we have included a map of the closures of the main streets below, as well as a thorough list of all the side streets and highway ramps that will be affected.
