More than 25,000 people appeared on the road on Sunday for the 40th run of the Los Angeles Marathon, disappointing race fans and drivers passing through the area.
The marathon begins at 7am at Dodger Stadium and finishes at Century City.
The runner heads northwest towards Roth Ferris, then west towards West Hollywood, then through Beverly Hills to Brentwood. So we headed to Brentwood.

The LA driver should expect a route change. According to event organizers, ramp closures on rolling roads and highways will begin by 3am on race day. The closest to the first line will resume at 9am, with most streets reopening to traffic by 1pm. The final barricade near the finish line is lifted at 8pm
The first closure of the day will include several ramps on the 101 highway north and south between Temple Street and Hollywood Boulevard, and multiple ramps on the 110 highway north and south between Hill Street and Sunset Boulevard. Everything is expected to resume by noon.
On the southbound 405 highway, the exit on Wilshire Boulevard will be closed in both directions from 4:45am to 3pm
