Following speculations of happiness after the loss of disappearance, one of Jackie and Shadow’s Eagles have passed away, a Big Bear Valley friend confirmed Saturday.
“I’m sad to say that Jackie and one of the Shadow chicks didn’t survive the serious winter storm that brought more than two feet of snow to the area,” the nonprofit said in a statement to NBC4.
According to Friends of Big Bear Valley, Eagles died after seeing three chicks dine around 6pm on Thursday. It’s not clear which Eaglet died as everything was in close size.
“Our view is still partially hampered by the melted snow balms of the nest, so we don’t know the whole situation yet,” the organization said.
The Eagle Family has made waves online this season after three eggs hatched. The first eagle was hatched on March 3rd, followed by the second eagle the following day. The third one was hatched around March 6th and 7th.
“Our hope is to work to persevere and move forward for Jackie and Shadow, bringing some comfort and peace,” Big Bear Valley Friends said in that statement. “Their stories are beautiful and continue to unfold.”
“We are mere observers and we can’t predict what will happen next. It reminds us once again that nature is wild and not scripted,” the organization continued. “It also has the power to unite our minds. At this point, we’re thinking about Jackie, Shadow and the Eagle family.”
