The US has paid $6 million in El Salvador and accepted illegal immigrants who are scheduled to deport illegal Venezuelan immigrants to their home country, the White House said Monday.

The Trump administration has sent at least 238 members of the Venezuelan Tren de Lagua Gang, who live illegally in the United States, while moving to stop the deportation of illegal immigrants under wartime laws involving President Donald Trump.

On Monday, White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt detailed the costs to US taxpayers.

“It was about $6 million for El Salvador due to the detention of these foreign terrorists,” she told reporters. “And I’m going to point out the cost of it being a dollar penny compared to the cost of lifetime and the costs we place on American taxpayers to house these terrorists in the largest security prison in the United States.”

In a social media post over the weekend, El Salvador President Naive Bukere said the US would “pay a very low fee” to his country to accommodate immigrants.

“As time passes, these actions are combined with production already produced by more than 40,000 inmates engaged in various workshops and labor under the Zero Idleness program, helping to make the prison system independent. As of today, it costs $200 million a year.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio celebrated President Salvador as “the most powerful security leader in our region” and “the greatest friend of the United States” for accepting illegal foreigners of crime.

The deportation of gang members came when US District Judge James Boasberg ordered the Trump administration to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants under the Alien Enemy Act of 1798.

Boasberg ordered a flight that would “depart aggressively.”

Wartime power laws allow for the deportation of enemy indigenous peoples and citizens without hearing. During the war in 1812, he was called three times before, including World War I and World War II.
