Exclusive: Vice President JD Vance serves as the Republican National Committee’s finance chair and tells Fox News Digital that he will work with the party to “enact the MAGA order fully” in Congress in 2026, increasing the Republican majority.
An RNC official told Fox News Digital that the RNC Executive Committee voted unanimously to confirm the Vance of this role. This is the first time in GOP history that a sitting vice president has served the role.

An RNC official told Fox News Digital that Vance, which serves as a financial chair, is “unprecedented” and “indicates how much lockstep the White House and RNC are in this cycle.”

“Everyone will focus on the growth of our majority in 2026 and we will actively raise money to prepare for next year.”
Vance reflects Trump’s “historic election victory, helping Republicans regain control of the Senate and maintain control of the House” in a statement from Fox News Digital.
“But we must maintain and grow the Republican majority in 2026 in order to fully enact the Maga duties that voters have requested and the vision of President Trump,” Vance said.

“We look forward to working with Whatley and the RNC leadership presidents to build the war chests we need to deliver these victories in November next year,” Vance added.
“JD will do a great job as an RNC finance chair,” President Trump said in a statement in Fox News Digital. “He fights tough races and knows how to win.”

The president added, “I’m happy he will work with Michael Wailey to secure the election, vote and win a great victory next year!”
RNC Chair Mike Whatley told Fox News Digital that Vance “is the definition of an American success story and rose from a childhood when his family faced a major struggle to become one of the youngest vice presidents in our country’s history.”

“Vice President Vance is not only one of our party’s most talented messengers, but also the ideological leader who helped remake the GOP in a working American party representing forgotten men and women in our country,” writes Whatley. “I am continuously grateful for the leadership and direction that President Trump has provided for his party, and I respect that he will work with Vice President Vance to grow his party and that President Trump will vote in Congress to make America great again.”
Vance is the success of Richard “Duke” Bucan III’s Chairman of the Initiative Country Finance. Trump has appointed Buchan to serve as Morocco’s ambassador.

Whatley thanked Bucan for his “risqué service” to the RNC and GOP and for his “support for President Trump.”
“His efforts have been an integral part of our success in 2024,” Whatley said.
