Officials confirmed with the KTLA are having a manhunt underway in San Clemente for a man allegedly assaulting deputies for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Details are limited and it is unclear exactly what happened, but after 2:30pm, sheriff’s officials posted it on their previous Twitter, X.
Avenida Pico and Calle de Los Molinos can be found in this outdated Google Maps image.
The suspect, known as a white man in his mid-30s with brown hair, blue eyes and a beard, weighs about 5 feet 10 inches and weighs about 160 pounds, was last seen running towards a storm drain near Avenida Pico and El Camino.
Two nearby schools, San Clemente Hai and Las Palma primary schools, were on lockdown, but it is unclear whether students and staff are still being held inside the facility.
Officials are urging residents to stay away from the man if he is immediately calling 911 if he is found.
Sky5 is on its way to the scene.
This is a developing story. Additional updates will remain at KTLA.
