The LA County Sheriff’s Office has identified a major suspect in the Arcadia murder, but the man armed and considered dangerous by the authorities is believed to have fled the country.
Deputies were first dispatched to the 50 block of Woodland Lane on March 11 at 6:26pm on the caller who said that an intruder (later identified as Zehaol) entered the house and shot his father.
It was later discovered that the caller was the victim’s 13-year-old son.
“I can’t imagine how that must feel… if he actually witnessed his father being murdered,” Lasd Steven de Jong told KTLA on the scene.

The respondents found the 61-year-old victim at a location suffering from gunshots on his torso, LASD said in the latest update on the incident issued Wednesday. Arcadia Fire Station officials treated the victim and took him to a local hospital where he died of his wounds.

Two more victims were found at the location: a 43-year-old Asian woman and a 13-year-old Asian man, the latter with injuries to the head and neck.
He was treated at the scene and the victim of his mother, the female victim, was released as unharmed, deputies confirmed.
“The murder investigators learned that Zehao Lu faced a female victim and son in the driveway of the location,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “He pushed them into their homes, where a conflict broke out with the 61-year-old victim. Lu shot the 61-year-old victim and ran out of the place in an unknown direction.”
None of the victims were immediately identified by name.
“The tragic murder on March 11 was attributed to a conflict between two individuals known to each other,” said Arcadia Police Chief Roy Nakamura. “Our deepest sympathy is going out to the victims’ families during this incredibly difficult time. While this targeted violence has deeply affected us all, Arcadia wants to ensure our community is a safe place to live and work.”
