Slain Cal FireCapt. Rebecca Marodi’s wife was arrested on Mexicali on Saturday and transferred to the US ex-s in San Diego where she was booked on suspicion of murder, authorities said.

Yolanda Orezinikzak Malody, 53, was appointed a major suspect in the murder of his wife on February 17th three weeks ago.

She was arrested on Saturday at a hotel in Mexicali’s Ferrocalil district, according to the Baja California Civic Security Office. According to a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, Mexican national security guard transported Orezinikzak Malodi to the US border, where she was released by her ex-s.

Yolanda Malodi, also known as Yolanda Oreziniczak, is the suspect in death and her wife, Captain Cal Fire.

She was taken into custody in San Diego for the murder, and an investigation into Malodi’s murder is still ongoing, the release said.

It was discovered that Malody, 49, the decorated Calfire captain who helped with the fight against Etonfire, was stabbed to death in his home in the Ramona community in San Diego County. She and Orezinikzak Malody were married for just over two years.

Oreziniczach Malody was previously convicted of killing her then-husband, James Joseph Oreziniczach. She pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter charges after the fatal stab wound of Oreziniczack in 2000 and served in prison for nearly a decade.

According to the sheriff’s office, Oreziniczach Malody has been a massive scale since Malody’s death, driving her into Mexico the night of her murder. She was seen in an evening video of the evening, evening, and evening hours, “discussing with Rebecca and physically attacking her,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Malody told his wife that she had ended the marriage about a week before the murder, Malody’s mother told authorities.

Home security footage from the ring camera of the couple’s home depicted a brutal scene on the evening of February 17th, according to the arrest warrant. A woman believed to be Malody – can be heard in a video screaming, “Yolanda! Please…! I don’t want to die!” Before appearing in the video with blood on her back, according to the warrant.

Apparent blood appears on Orezinikzak Malody’s arm in the video, making her appear to have a knife. The footage then shows that both women are inside the house, and Orezinik Zach Malody later stuffs her silver SUV with “gathering pets, random items, luggage.”

The same car crossed the Mexican border about an hour later.

Times staff writer Summerlin contributed to this report.
