First on FOX: More than 150 states and national prolife coalitions signed a letter sent to Congress on Wednesday morning.
Budget adjustments are special legislative processes used by Congress to make changes to spending, revenue, and federal debt restrictions.
The coalition has acknowledged the Trump administration’s efforts to stop former President Joe Biden’s “abortion agenda” and reduce government waste through Elon Musk’s government efficiency (DOGE), but the group said “shows an opportunity for Republican Trial Ecta to further strengthen these efforts.”

After President Donald Trump’s election victory and subsequent pardons of life support individuals charged under the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ), life support conservatives are now redirecting efforts within the movement to block access to widespread federal funds for abortion providers.
“The Republican settlement bills in 2015 and 2017 included provisions that would stop mass abortions from giving hard-earned American taxes,” the group wrote. “In 2025, cutting funding for this industry is even more urgent: we spent tens of millions of dollars on risking women and unborn babies and promoting policies and candidates that have woken up tens of millions of dollars.
Trump has “already rolled back” funds for “already rolled back” for abortion groups overseas through his executive order to strengthen Hyde’s amendment. This is a law that prohibits federal funds from being used to pay for abortions.
“Congressional action is needed to stop the largest taxpayer cash in the national abortion industry – Medicaid,” the letter said.
Hyde’s amendment sets federal restrictions on abortion financing, but individual states have the authority to extend or limit Medicaid coverage beyond these exceptions. Some states choose to use state funds to provide Medicaid coverage of abortion services beyond cases permitted by the Hyde Amendment, but others do not.
Several lawmakers in the House and Senate have already introduced bills to roll back federal support for planned parent-child relationships. In January, R-Minn. The Defund Planned Parent Act of 2025, introduced by Rep. Michel Fishbach, proposes a one-year moratorium on federal funding to the planned parent-child relationship federation of the United States and its affiliates.

R-Mo. Sen. Josh Hawley of the Abortion Providers Act last taxpayer funding in January, attempting to give back abortion providers similar to planned parents across the country. Rand Paul sees, R-Ky. and Markwayne Mullin of R-Okla and six other lawmakers, reintroduced the law in January.
In 2024, Planned Parenthood, a leading provider of abortion services, spent nearly $70 million to support abortion candidates and abortion voting measures nationwide through the political action sector. Abortion was one of the Democratic Party’s major party platform issues in 2024, with Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri and Montana voted to embarrass the state’s constitutional abortion rights.
“Their large pro-aboration political arm, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, promotes all abortion and terrifying lies that put women and girls at unnecessary risk,” the letter said.

Both the House and Senate adopted separate budgets last month in 2025, with both expected to pass the settlement package by April or May. The Trump administration is also planning to freeze a $27.5 million federal family planning grant to organizations that include the Planned and Parent-Child Relations. At the same time, the Wall Street Journal has reviewed its use of funds for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), reported Tuesday.

“Women and children deserve better care. In an age where federal funding has been reviewed, Congress should start by cutting funding for massive abortions in future settlement bills,” the group said.
The 150 major pro-life coalitions that signed the letter include Susan B. Anthony Pro-life America, Aaplog Action, ACLJ Action, American Freedom Pro-life Pro-life, and AFA Action.
