Rep. Jasmine Crockett of D-Texas refused to apologise for referring to Gov. Greg Abbott, who is in a wheelchair on Wednesday.
Crockett became annoyed and ended the conversation after refusing to apologize multiple times in an interview with Fox News. Lawmakers issued a statement about her comments earlier this week, but did not include an apology.
“I have a statement. Why do I apologize when I make a statement? My statement was clear,” Crockett said as he faced the issue.
“But he didn’t apologise for calling him the ‘Governor Hot Wheels’ when he was in a wheelchair. Fox News reporter Hilary Vaughn pushed her against him.

“I don’t know how many times I need to repeat this,” Crockett replied.
“Yes, but why didn’t you apologize?” Vaughn said.
“We issued a statement,” Crockett repeated.

“There was no apology for that,” Vaughn retorted. “Do you feel bad about teasing someone in a wheelchair?”

“Well, well. I’m done here,” Crockett said as he began to leave. “I’m done. I’m done with this.”
Benefiting for the human rights campaign in Los Angeles, Crockett laughed at Abbott.
“We’re these hot a-Texas Street, honey. I know we got the governor’s hot wheels out there, she said with a laugh.

Crockett issued a statement on social media regarding her comments, claiming that she had not mentioned Abbott’s paralysis.
“I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition. I was thinking about the planes, trains and cars he used to move into a community led by a black mayor. Literally, the next line I said was that he was “hot a** mess” and referenced his horrifying policy.
