The World Series champion Dodgers will return home Thursday to face the Detroit Tigers in their first game of the 2025 season at Dodger Stadium.
After sweeping the Cubs 2-0 in the Tokyo Series to begin their quest for consecutive MLB titles in Japan, the Dodgers send rookie Blakesnell to the mound in a late afternoon matchup.

What time is the Dodgers game?
The Dodgers and Tigers will play at 4:10pm on Thursday at the 2025 Dodger Stadium Opener. The game will be aired by ESPN.

Car and stadium gates will open at 1:10pm
Uber drop-off and pick-up locations have been changed. Vehicles with ride-share services will depart from the stadiumway and enter through Gate B, picking up riders from lot 1 and dropping off.

Dodgers’ home opener pre-match plans
The team has billed pre-match events as “a longtime Hollywood show, including appearances and performances from special guests from top tier levels.”
Josh Groban will become the first day of the second year in a row, accompanied by two F-15C fighters from Fresno’s 144th fighter wing and two F-35A Lightning II fighter jets from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Base, Arizona.
Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles Fire Department and Pasadena Fire Department pay tribute to the American national anthem. The national anthem hangs from the fire truck at LAFD Station 20 on Lot I quarterly about a mile west of Dodger Stadium.

Who pitches the Dodgers?
Two-time Cy Young Award winner Snell will make his Dodger debut against left-handed Tarik Skubal, a unanimous selection of winners of the 2024 American League Cy Young Award.
Snell and The Dodgers have agreed to terms of the five-year, $182 million contract on November 30th. Snell won the National League CY Young Award in 2023. He pitched for the San Diego Padres, but was 14-9 in the league’s best 2.23 ERA. He was a free agent after the season, then signed the second half of his spring training with the San Francisco Giants, receiving a two-year, $62 million deal, including an opt-out this winter exercised by Snell.
Snell was an American League Cy Young Award winner in 2018, pitching for Tampa Bay and leading the league with an ERA 1.89 and 21 win.
Skubal led major league baseball with 228 strikeouts in 2024, taking the lead at Atlanta Chris Sale with 18 wins. His .818 victory
The percentage was third behind the sales (.857) and the Chicago Cubs’ Shaw Timer Naga (.833).
Skubal did not make a decision when he allowed two runs with two hits in six innings when he faced the Dodgers in the sole time of his career on July 12, 2024
At the game Comerica Park, the Dodgers scored once in eighth and nine innings in a 4-3 victory.
Dodger-designated batter Hei ohtani is hitless in six at-bats against Skubal.
