The Southern California teenager is speaking out after killing three families, including his mother, on 60 highways, in a violent DUI conflict.
Amidst the heartbreak and anguish, 17-year-old Itzel Moreno said she was trying to put it together for her family.
“We’re here to raise awareness about drunk driving and trying to raise money for funerals because there are three of them that we have to bury, and there are a lot of them,” Itzel told KTLA’s Jennifer McGraw.
Itzel’s mother, Rachel Moreno, her Tia Jazmin Ramos, and her 1.5-year-old ne Ezra, were instantly taken away on the night of March 22nd.
“He hit them and killed them head on, instantly,” Itzel said.

According to a CHP spokesman, the collision was first reported on the westbound 60 highway near Pomona Reservoir Street around 11pm.
The wrong direction driver was heading east in the westbound lane, a spokesman said when he attacked the victim, the Honda Civic, along with other vehicles.
The crash was so violent that he killed all three of the Honda Civics and left the car smashed in the center divider.
“They were also full of love and the last people they thought they would make this happen to them,” Itzel said.
The driver, identified as 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez, died the following day at the hospital.
Now, the families of the victims of Huntington Park must give their loved ones a rest.
