Usually sleepy procedural votes ended in House drama after a rebellion against their own party’s forced collateral lawsuit, in which a rebellion by nine Republicans would halt during the week.
It issues the future of two important bills supported by the Trump administration, which are scheduled to be voted on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
R-La. Mike Johnson, speaker of the film, told reporters in comments denounced the rebellion that the votes were cancelled for the rest of the week.
“That’s a very disappointing result on the floor there. A handful of Republicans have taken the rules along with all the Democrats. It’s rarely done. That’s a very disappointing,” Johnson said. “The fact that rule has been knocked down means we can’t do anything more on the floor this week.”

“Rule Voting” is not an expression of support or opposition to a particular measure. Rather, it is usually a procedural hurdle that falls along the party line, allowing the house to start debating and ultimately vote for bills covered by the rules.
In this case, the “rules” would have allowed discussion and floor consideration of the bill, which would have limited the ability of district judges to collect national injunctions, each would have required evidence of citizenship to be registered on the ballot.
It comes in a few weeks of battle over the ability to vote remotely for new parents in Congress.
It was an embarrassing set-off for House Republican leaders, and they made full court coverage for both laws.

She attempted to force the bill to the floor via a mechanism called a “discharge petition.” This attempted to hold Endran leadership effectively and effectively as the final leader to hold a House-wide vote on the law once the petition gained support from the majority of the House.

Lawmakers rarely lead to discharge petitions against their parties. However, Lunas was ready to succeed with support from Democrats and some fellow Republicans.
House GOP leaders tried to block it by inserting language into an unrelated “rules” package on Monday night, effectively preventing Luna’s bill from getting voted on.

It sparked backlash among Republicans who supported Luna’s efforts. Or the opposite attempt by the leader to change the rules of the house previously agreed upon, and most often a combination of both.
Meanwhile, a source familiar with the House Rules Committee told Fox News Digital that some Republicans on that panel were unhappy with being kept in the dark by House leaders until the last moment before the committee voted Tuesday morning. However, all Republicans on the committee voted for this rule.

House GOP leaders can still invoke emergency sessions of the House Rules Committee to consider amended languages that do not target discharge petitions.
But one House Republican suggested that lawmakers would be better sent home that week.
“There’s a lot of emotion, and maybe it’s better to press a pause for a few days,” said the GOP lawmaker.
