TW Garner Food Company recalls two types of Texas peat hot sauce in 10 states about the issue of bottling and labeling.
The company issued a recall of certain bottles of Texas Pete Havanaro Buffalo Sauce and Texas Pete Sweet Jiabanero Sauce on Thursday. The North Carolina-based company said inspectors have found that some bottles of Habanero Buffalo may instead contain Sriracha pepper sauce, which contains sulfites that are not disclosed on the Habanero Buffalo label.
“People who are allergic or severely susceptible to sulfites pose a risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions when consuming these products,” writes Tw Garner Foods Company.
On the other hand, the sweet chibanero sauce was recalled because one of its ingredients, specifically “aged peppers (red habanero peppers, salt, vinegar)” somehow separated from the label.

The bottles were shipped to distribution centers and shopping outlets in 10 states in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and Vermont between February and March.
