First on FOX: Senator Jackie Rosen will roll back tariffs on specific material on President Donald Trump’s main tourism partners ahead of Friday night’s “Voting – Llama,” and force Republican colleagues to once again force them to follow the policy.
“President Trump has broken his promise to cut costs, raised even higher prices for hardworking Nevada families and enacted reckless tariffs that are hurting my state’s tourism economy,” D-Nev.
“Donald Trump may not care if his tariffs will raise prices, but I will. So I’m trying to stop his new national sales tax. All senators should be on the record.

Nevada Democrats’ amendments include those that prevent the government from imposing administration’s tariffs on critical construction materials for buildings, and those that block tariffs delegated to the state, along with many people visiting the United States.
“I’ve heard from Nevada business owners who are worried about how these new tariffs will affect businesses and livelihoods, including the founders of small businesses in Reno, flooring on Friday.

“They say, “I don’t want favors. I want leadership that reflects the urgency and reality we are facing. These tariffs won’t get jobs back. They raise prices, punish small businesses, and they hire businesses like me that have done for 13 years, promote innovation and support families.
On Thursday, Republicans agreed to a motion that began almost a day’s worth of debate before the “voting for the llama” began.
The revised marathon is scheduled to take place at some point on Friday after discussions are over.

During this process, senators are able to introduce unlimited number of modifications, many are expected to get floor votes.
“Voting” shows the moves that Congressional Republicans have long pursued against Trump’s budget to expand border funding and his distinctive 2017 tax cuts. This week, the Senate took a major step by announcing changes to the House of Representatives’ budget settlement resolution.

The expected budget vote comes after months of discrepancy between the House and Senate Republicans, the former calling for a settlement bill to address both borders and taxes, but many in the Senate wanted to split it into two bills.
Eventually, House Republicans got what they wanted with the 1-bill approach that Trump congratulated them.
