Authorities say a Ventura County man has been arrested for repeatedly harassing a 13-year-old girl.
The suspect was identified as 46-year-old Gerald Juarez Reyes of Miners Oaks, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
In November 2024, the 13-year-old victim said she was being harassed by a man when she returned home from a school in Minor’s Oaks, an unincorporated area in Ojai.
She reported harassment to her mother, who notified the authorities. Despite the extensive investigation, no suspects were found.
In March 2025, the girl said she was once again harassed by the same man every time she returned home from school.
Rep. Ojai and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Crime Analysis Unit were able to investigate the incident and identify Reyes as the suspect.
Reyes was arrested for two counts of child trouble. No details were released about what Reyes said to the girl during alleged harassment.
“We would like to remind the public that the Sheriff’s Office/Ojai Police Station will remain vigilant when walking or riding bikes in unassembled areas and report suspicious activities to sheriff’s dispatch,” the authorities said.
