“Enforcing immigration laws in our country is extremely important to the national security and public safety of the United States,” the statement said. “All countries must accept the return of their citizens in a timely manner when other countries, including the United States, try to eliminate them.”

The department said it was “ready to review these actions when South Sudan is fully cooperating.”

The East African country is currently on the verge of a civil war, with armed conflict, massive displacement and serious food insecurity escalating.

The US Embassy in Khartoum suspended operations on April 22, 2023 to include Visa, Passport and other everyday consular services.

The move comes after the Trump administration in February ended the deportation shield for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans in the United States

Trump reports that illegal immigrants will meet at historic lows in the first month of their inauguration

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it would revoke the status of more than 300,000 citizens protected by temporary protected status (TPS).

The Trump administration has deported more than 100,000 illegal immigrants since taking office, according to a New York post report citing DHS officials.
