One woman and three girls (a young girl, 3 years old) were hospitalized Monday night after the car crossed the side of a cliff in Los Angeles.
The LA Fire Department said the crash was reported in Sylmer at about 9:11pm.
Details are limited, and the LAFD’s initial report said it was “under unknown circumstances” that the car turned from the road and plunged around 120 feet below the embankment.
The crew answered a call in the 12,000 block of North Harding Street, between the El Carriso Golf Course and the Lopez Canyon Silmer Hiking Trail.
Witnesses said all four residents were able to get out of the car themselves before being helped by paramedics and evaluated.
LAFD said one 44-year-old woman, ages 12, 7 and 3, and three 12-year-old girls, all suffering minor injuries and were transported in fair condition.
Police and other crew remained on the scene to coordinate recovery of the vehicle from where it was set to rest on the levee.
No other injuries were reported and authorities did not immediately provide further information regarding the crash.
