The Trump administration plans to be fined for illegal immigrants who are subject to deportation orders if they do not leave the United States.
“Illegal aliens must self-abolize using the CBP Home App and leave the country now, otherwise they will face consequences,” Tricia McLaughlin, deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), told Fox News on Tuesday. “This includes a $998 daily fine for causing illegal foreigners to overstay their final deportation order.”
Using a 1996 law that was not enacted until his first term in 2018 by President Donald Trump, the administration plans to apply penalties retroactively to illegal immigrants for up to five years, with fines of more than $1 million, administrative officials first told Reuters.

The administration can also seize property from illegal immigrants who have failed to pay the severe penalty, the report said.
The flyer provided to Fox News Digital shows the “benefits” and “consequences” of illegal immigrants who fail to self-sell via the CBP Home App.
“Self-reporting is safe,” reads Flyer. “Choose your departure flight and leave it to your own terms.”

Other benefits of self-reporting include allowing non-criminal illegal immigrants to maintain the money they earned in the United States and allowing illegal immigrants to remain eligible for future legal immigrants, but some illegal immigrants may even be eligible for subsidies if they are struggling to get tickets.
Meanwhile, the “Results” section of the flyer warns that those who fail to self-denial will be “arrested by DHS who have no chance to get your problems in advance.”

Flyer also spells out potential fines, including a $998 per day fine for failing to comply with the final removal order, and a $1,000-$5,000 fine for failing to self-denial after claiming “you would.”
“If you fail to self-declare, you could be subject to prison time,” Flyer concluded, adding that illegal immigrants are later “banned from re-entry into the United States through a legal immigration system.”
