Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and selected members of the 2024 World Series Championship team were greeted at Capitol Hill on Tuesday by California Sens. Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff to celebrate the show-out champion.
A lifelong baseball fan, Padilla went out with the World Series trophy to a group of bipartisan lawmakers waiting to celebrate his team.
“Formal and officially welcome them to the Capitol, to celebrate the World Series, to hold the trophies, oh my god, this is amazing,” Padilla said.
Padilla also took his son to the event. This is another passionate baseball fan.
“We can make these kinds of memories so that we can share this with him. We know that baseball brings us together just as we have memories of watching baseball with our dad,” Padilla added.
“Having a room with people on either side of the aisle makes me happy to be there with people who are really happy,” Adam Schiff said. “That’s one of the great things about this great American entertainment.”
Dodgers catcher Will Smith and pitcher Tyler Glasnow joined Roberts for a short reception.
The Dodgers were scheduled to play their second game against the Washington Nationals at 3:45pm on Tuesday
President Trump also showed Dodgers around his oval office. Olivia Garvey reports NBC4 News on Monday, April 7th, 2025 at 6pm.
