A motorcyclist was killed in a multivehicle crash on the 101 highway in Ventura County.
On April 6th, the California Highway Patrol responded to a crash in the southbound lane of the 101 Expressway north of California Avenue.
Motorcyclists and four other vehicles were involved in the crash, including the Volkswagen SUV, Tesla Model 3, sedan, BMW 330E sedan and BMW 330i sedan.
Investigators said the Volkswagen SUV slowed down and eventually stopped due to heavy traffic. Nearby Tesla and BMW 330E also slowed down due to traffic.
Behind them, the driver of the BMW 330I was unaware of the outage traffic ahead and pushed the BMW 330E into another lane, hoping it into a different lane, CHP said.
The BMW 330i attacked the concrete center partition before hitting Tesla. At this point, the approaching motorcyclist was unable to stop within time and attacked the Tesla’s rear end.
The biker was kicked out of his bike and hit Tesla before landing on the road.
The emergency medical crew responding to the scene discovered a seriously injured motorcyclist. He was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
According to the Ventura County star, the biker was identified only as a 58-year-old man from Thousand Oaks. Two additional people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No further details have been released as a fatal crash remains under investigation.
